Formstress was engaged by Downer to construct precast stairs, columns, beams and headstock for the Pukekohe Train Station Upgrade.

The most challenging components of this job were the 6no stairs, the largest weighing in at 26t and 9m long. Custom made timber formwork was used to form the stairs with crucial elements of the formwork checked with templates created from our in-house CNC capabilities. Lifting these heavy stairs in our plant was made easy when you have gantry cranes capable of lifting 32t each or 64t when paired together.
